Thanks for reminding me about Bill Evans.

He played with almost all of the jazz greats of the 50s & 60s and in 1958 recorded with Miles Davis and John Coltrane and then went on with those guys to the Newport Jazz Festival with the addition of Cannonball Adderly and Thelonious Monk. The following year he played on Miles' classic LP "Kind of Blue".

His musical genius was truly unique and in 59, with the amazing bassist Scott LaFaro he reached the summit of his art. I was lucky to catch a few of his sets at the Village Vanguard in 67.

I still listen to him very often and am so grateful every time.
