I hear footsteps approaching. They speak in Arabic. But their commander speaks Arabic with a Persian, Iranian accent. They are those whom Saudi Arabia calls the dangerous lords of international terrorism, an Iranian officer who gives orders to the Shiite terrorists from Hezbollah, the party of Satan.

As soon as they hear the Israeli helicopters, they run away like rabbits.

Thank God, God be praised, , Israeli helicopters finally arrive at the scene of the ambush just on the border between Lebanon and Israel. Like angels, my comrades hoisted me onto the stretcher to transport me to the helicopter. I keep the memory of ether alcohol and sweet torpor after the injection of morphine which invades me as in a dream.

 A compressive bandage on my stomach, I looked out of the open door of the helicopter over the hills of South Lebanon, this magnificent landscape and these laughing rivers which wind through the Lebanese olive trees. The smell of ether alcohol transports me to all these University Hospitals and all the battlefields where I worked. And especially the Hospital where my older brother was operated at the start of the “Peace for the Galilee” war.

Merci mon Dieu, que Dieu soit loué, Al Hamdou Lilah comme on dit en Arabe, les hélicoptères israéliens arrivent enfin sur les lieux de l’embuscade juste à la frontière entre Le Liban et Israel. Comme des anges mes camarades me hissent sur la civière pour me transporter jusqu’à l’hélicoptère. Je garde le souvenir de l’alcool éther et de la douce torpeur après l’injection de la morphine qui m’envahit comme dans un rêve.

 Un pansement compressif sur le ventre j’ai regardé par la porte ouverte de l’hélicoptère les collines du  Sud Liban, ce paysage magnifique et ces riantes rivières qui serpentent à travers  les oliviers libanais . Avec l’éternel soleil de la Terre Sainte, de la Terre Enceinte de la presence divine, la Terre d’Israel .

L’odeur de l’alcool éther me transporte vers tous ces Hôpitaux Universitaires et tous les champs de bataille où j’ai travaillé. Et surtout l’Hôpital où fut opéré mon grand frère au début de la guerre “Paix pour la Galilée”.

C’était d’abord le 3 juin 1982,le debut de la guerre « Paix pour la Galilee » lorsque le groupe Abou Nidal a tiré une balle a bout portant dans la tête de l’ambassadeur d’Israel à Londres Shlomo Arguov,en face de l’hotel Dorchester. Puis Al Rosan, officier des services secrets irakiens, car le groupe Abou Nidal était basé à Bagdad. Enfin il y a Al Banna, cousin d’Abou Nidal.
