Dear Hillel,
The definition of a Jew is somebody whose mother is Jewish or who converted to Orthodox Judaism. If you delete from the Jewish People all the Jews who are not affiliated to a synagogue, then you are in contradiction with the Holy Baal Shem Tov who said that every Jew is like a diamond. Even if the diamond is covered with mud, when you take off the mud it is a diamond ( teaching of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach ). Amy Winehouse, thank you for reminding me the right spelling, was a diamond and 100 % Jewish.
ONE YEAR AGO THE FAMOUS JEWISH ARTIST WINEHOUSE PASSED AWAY
I believe it's spelled Winehouse. Calling her Jewish is like saying you speak Mandarin. She was not affiliated or in any way involved and you can't exactly say her lifestyle was typically Jewish in any way.. Why the need to even mention it...?
Best,
Hillel
